Rev. Elizabeth came to Religious Science in the late 90's, after a health challenge triggered an intense spiritual and personal journey. Immersed in Science of Mind classes, she completed all classes and the intensive to qualify as a practitioner and a licensed staff minister by 2002. A passionate photographer, Rev. Elizabeth serves as Center photographer and occasionally gives workshops on creative expression through digital photography. She studied photojournalism at the University of Iowa and counseling psychology from California State University, Northridge, and earned M.A. degrees from both institutions. She also graduated from Coach University, an internet-based life coaching program, and completed one year of spiritual psychology at the University of Santa Monica. She has worked as a freelance writer/photographer, vocational rehabilitation counselor, career coach, and community college and university instructor.
She met and married her husband of 43 years while serving with the U.S. Foreign Service in Brussels, Belgium. Larry was a journalist who became a journalism professor at the University of Washington and then at Cal State University, Northridge. He transitioned in May 2008. They raised two beautiful children, David - a mathematician in Washingnton, D.C.; and Diana, a photographer and non-profit specialist with a husband and two children of her own in San Francisco.
Rev. Elizabeth has created the Dynamos, a health and fitness group for people seeking fitness buddies, healthy potlucks, group walks and other health and fitness activities.
